BLUETOP AWARD ANNOUNCEMENT: Yardney Technical Products Inc., Pawcatuck, Conn., is being awarded a $9,291,000 modification to previously awarded indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract (N00164-03-D-6923) to exercise a Phase II option to procure a maximum of four Lithium Ion batteries and related hardware support requirements for the Advanced SEAL Delivery Program (ASDS). Work will be performed in Pawcatuck, Conn., and is expected to be completed by Feb 2005. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The initial solicitation was competitively procured via the World Wide Web, with four offers received. The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Crane, Ind., is the contracting activity.

Largest Lithium-Ion Battery Shipped to Navy:  On June 22, 2005, Lithion Inc.delivered the complete shipset of Advanced SEAL Delivery System (ASDS) Batteries to the Naval Surface Warfare Center, US Navy. The design and production team is pictured below.
